INDIANAPOLIS – Kennedy Osterman of Illinois Springfield has been selected as this week’s national player of the week by the NCAA Division II Conference Information Directors of America (D2CIDA) for the week of Feb. 23-March 1.

Osterman had a huge finish to her season and career at UIS by averaging 29.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, four steals and 3.5 assists per game to help lead the Prairie Stars (14-14) to two decisive victories last week. In a 105-55 win at William Jewell, Osterman went 11-of-20 from the field, four-of-eight from beyond the arc and made all five free throw attempts while adding four assists and three steals. The 31 points was a season-high and nine points better than her previous career high mark. On Saturday in a 97-69 victory at Rockhurst, Osterman posted her second-best career scoring performance with 28 points as she was six-of-eight from three-point range as part of a nine-of-18 day from the field and went four-of-four at the line as well. She added nine rebounds, five steals and three assists along the way and also scored her 1,000th career point as a collegiate player during the contest. In helping her team close the season with wins in five of its final six games, Osterman was selected as the Player of the Week by the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
