UIndy's Canary, UMSL's White Selected as Academic All-District
INDIANAPOLIS - University of Indianapolis senior Jessica Canary and University of Missouri-St. Louis senior Kristi White have been named ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Canary, a guard from Coatesville, Ind., garnered District 5 First Team honors and is averaging 13.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists for the undefeated Greyhounds. She currently boasts a 3.91 and is majoring in elementary education.
White, an accounting major with a 3.95 grade point average, is averaging 11.0 points, 3.8 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game this season for the Tritons. She was named to the District 7 Second Team and has helped UMSL to a 10-11 overall record and 6-6 mark in the GLVC.
Canaryl will now advance to the ballot for the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Team by virtue of being a first-team All-District pick.
