INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference has unveiled its new logo in conjunction with the launch of its redesigned conference website,
www.glvcsports.com. The new GLVC logo was created by Brad Craig Design Communication of Louisville, Ky. and presents a contemporary identity for the conference. The logo is the centerpiece of the new visual identity system and reflects the dynamic growth of one of the largest NCAA Division II conferences in the country.
The branded identity provides a new typography, color palette and usage guidelines that will ensure consistent use across multiple platforms. The new logo will replace the previous mark that had first been fully implemented for the 1983-84 academic year. Several variations of the classic mark have been utilized over the past 27 years and the new logo signals a transition to a unified identity.
“The rollout of the new GLVC logo will assist our ongoing efforts to promote and brand the league as a proud member of NCAA Division II,” stated Jim Naumovich, GLVC Commissioner. “The new design will be featured on our website, conference publications, signage, awards and apparel and creates a unique and vibrant identity for the GLVC.”
The new primary logo provides a circle that was employed to act as a setting for the dominant wordmark that includes a blue (pantone 294 C) and green (pantone 364 C) vibrant update to the league’s original colors.
The redesign of the GLVC website,
www.glvcsports.com, has integrated the new logo into a lively, sharp new look. The GLVC has continued with its web provider SIDEARM Sports to build on a quality and informative online presence.
The GLVC was established in 1978 and is one of the largest NCAA Division II conferences in the country. With the recent addition of William Jewell College, the Conference includes 16 institutions from five Midwestern states. The GLVC currently sponsors championships in 17 sports with a timeline in place to add football as the league’s 18th sport in 2012.
