INDIANAPOLIS – Five Great Lakes Valley Conference women’s golfers have earned All-Conference recognition and completed the 11-member All-GLVC team, it was announced by the league office Thursday.
Drury’s Lauren Michael and Morgan Lamberson, as well as Indianapolis’ Jenny Konop, Amy Thompson, and Brianna Scheidler were selected to the team based off of head-to-head standings compiled by Golfstat.
Konop finished tied for seventh at the 2012 GLVC Championship with a 36-hole score of 152 (79-73), while Michael (82-73—155) and Thompson (82-73—155) tied for 10th, and Scheidler (79-77—156) and Lamberson (81-75—156) tied for 13th.
These five players earned All-Conference honors based on their body of work, however, as the conference championship results do not count toward their Golfstat rating. To be eligible though, players must have competed at the conference championship and reached a minimum of 15 rounds throughout the year.
At the conclusion of the GLVC Championship last week, six individuals were named All-GLVC as the top-five finishers and ties earned the postseason distinction. Those honorees included GLVC Champion Katrina Choate (71-72—143) of Drury, Indianapolis’ Darin Pinnick (74-73—147), Maryville’s Kayla Eckelkamp (76-72—148), Missouri-St. Louis’ Daniela Viotti (74-76—150) and Shweta Galande (76-75—151) and Lewis’ Vanessa Phillips (73-78—151).
