INDIANAPOLIS – In the first round of the 2015 Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Championship Tournament, all four of the top seeds advanced to Friday’s semifinal matches, which will be held in Louisville, Kentucky, on the campus of Bellarmine University.
Top-seed Bellarmine earned hosting rights after narrowly escaping No. 8 McKendree University 2-1 in double overtime.
No. 2 seed Truman State University beat No. 7 Rockhurst 2-1; No. 3 Quincy University beat No. 6 Lewis handily 4-0; and No. 4 University of Missouri-St. Louis topped Drury University in overtime 2-1.
This is just the sixth time in women’s soccer league history, dating back to 1995, that the top seeds all advanced, while it’s the second time in the past three years.
