LOUISVILLE, KY - Truman State University found the back of the net in both halves and earned its first-ever Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship in women's soccer Sunday with a 2-0 victory over the University of Missouri-St. Louis at Bellarmine University's Owsley B. Frazier Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Bulldogs posted the game-winner in the 36th minute off the foot of Megan Casserly from the assist by Megan Whitehead.  Truman then added an insurance goal at the 57:08 mark when Megan Whitehead fed a cross to Allison Lockett, who headed in her seventh goal of the season.

Missouri-St. Louis totaled 14 shots for the second straight contest, while Truman only had four in the game. The Tritons collected four shots on goal and the Knights had two.  In between the posts, Truman's Katie Mattingly secured three saves in full time.  UMSL's Megan Ohm did not record a save.

The second-seeded Bulldogs (14-2-5), who garnered the program's 10th overall conference title and first since joining the GLVC in 2013, earned the league's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament.  The fourth-seeded Tritons (12-4-4) will see their postseason fate determined on Monday evening's NCAA Division II Selection Show.
