The following "Starting Five" points offer a quick look inside GLVC women's basketball action this week:

STARTING FIVE
[1 | 6-1 to start week two]
 Including a home-opening win for Truman State on Tuesday, seven GLVC women's basketball teams began the week with six victories and just one setback. Indianapolis' 67-55 regional win over Tiffin helped it start the season 3-0 and earn its first road win, while Drury's win on Monday helped the Panthers glean a 4-0 record. Additionally, Rockhurst is 3-0 after opening weekend. Illinois Springfield boasted the largest scoring output and margin of victory this week with an 89-22 thrashing of RMU-Springfield, which also was their home opener for the season. [2 | double trouble] Seven players have notched double-doubles already through three games or less, including reigning GLVC Player of the Week Sydney Brackemyre, who tallied one in both games during week one. Teammates Nicole Anderson and Martha Burse both produced the same effort in Tuesday night's win vs. Tiffin with 21 points and 14 rebounds and 22 and 11, respectively. Illinois Springfield's Syerra Cunningham and Drury's Hailey Diestelkamp were the other two to garner two, including Cunningham's 18-19 effort vs. in-region opponent Lake Superior State. Truman State's Cassidy Clark and Lewis' Jessica Kelliher were the other two to open the 2016-17 campaign with double-doubles.

[3 | thirty times a charm] Rockhurst's Mary Dineen is the only player to score 30 points or more as of yet this season, which she accomplished on Nov. 12 against Lincoln in an 86-64 win. Lewis' Jamie Johnson came close, scoring 29 points in a win vs. regional foe Walsh on opening night Nov. 11.

[4 | southern indiana scores a century] Southern Indiana managed to surpass 100 points in its season-opener Nov. 11, as it defeated Roosevelt 108-55. Kaydie Grooms had a game-high 21 points for the Screaming Eagles in that contest. Two other teams came close to the plateau, as Bellarmine scored 94 in a one-point overtime win on the same night against regional opponent Ferris State, and Drury answered the very next day in a  94-59 road win against in-region foe Trevecca Nazarene.

[5 | game highs] Teams and individuals reached high heights in the early goings this season, as both Illinois Springfield (11) and Southern Indiana (10) reached double digits in three-pointers made, while Rockhurst has topped the league in foul shots made with 23 in a win against Lincoln. Lewis' Gabby Green is the only one to hit double digits for assists when she dished out 10 against Walsh.
