GLVC men's basketball will get an early start to the Conference schedule this week with a full slate of eight league games on Thursday and Saturday. Southern Indiana (4-0) puts its unbeaten mark on the line with road contests at McKendree and Illinois Springfield on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. Drury (5-0) and Missouri S&T (5-0) will both host travel partners Maryville (2-6) and Missouri-St. Louis (4-3) this week. The Panthers will welcome the Tritons on Thursday and host the Saints on Saturday.

Thursday marked the conference opener for GLVC men's basketball with eigtht interdivision matchups taking place. The league's three unbeaten teams -- Drury (6-0), Missouri S&T (6-0), and Southern Indiana (5-0) -- remained undefeated, while Bellarmine, Lewis, Quincy, Truman State and UW-Parkside picked up wins as well. Bellarmine's Adam Eberhard and Maryville's Anthony Johnson both had big nights with double doubles. Eberhard recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Johnson netted 13 points and grabbed 10 boards.

Seven of the eight GLVC programs that won league openers on Thursday made it a pefect 2-0 start on Saturday, with exception of Missouri-St. Louis ending Missouri S&T's 6-0 start. Bellarmine, Lewis, Southern Indiana and UW-Parkside sit in the top half of the East Division at 2-0, while Drury, Quincy and Truman State are 2-0 in the West. Four GLVC standouts posted double-doubles on the night, including Missouri S&T's Rokas Paulauskas (12 pts, 11 reb), Quincy's Joseph Tagarelli (18 pts, 10 reb), Truman State's Connor Erickson (18 pts, 10 reb), and UW-Parkside's Kendale McCullum (15 pts, 11 ast).
