Despite Saint Joseph's falling 91-59 at Dayton in exhibition play Tuesday, GLVC programs found the win column in the four other contests, which featured high-scoring affairs. In fact, of the four winning teams Tuesday, Maryville scored the fewest amount of points in an 87-49 victory over Robert Morris, and even that winning total was 16 points higher than the Saints' season average. In other action, Illinois Springfield defeated Governors State 95-89, Truman State topped Central Methodist 98-67, and UW-Parkside dropped Saint Xaiver, 98-68. Maryville's Anthony Johnson netted 28 points on 11-of-17 (.647) shooting, which included a 6-of-8 performance from beyond the arc. Illinois Springfield's Zach Steinberg tallied 25 points and 15 rebounds in the win at Governors State, while UW-Parkside's Kendale McCullum posted 18 points and 10 assists in the win over Saint Xavier.

Rockhurst topped William Jewell 83-77 in league play Wednesday, while GLVC teams posted a 5-0 mark in non-conference action, including wins by No. 7 Bellarmine, Lewis, McKendree, Missouri S&T and Quincy. The Hawks scored their eighth straight win to move to 9-1 following a 90-70 victory over MacMurray. Bellarmine posted its seventh straight win with a 79-60 victory at Christian Brothers. Individually, nine players reached the 20-point mark, including three players in the Jewell/Rockhurst contest. Rockhurst's Travis House netted 22 points in the win, while Jewell's Patrick Whelan and Emil Ostafiicuic scored 21 and 20 points, respectively. Elsewhere, McKendree's Michael Jackson and Justin Blanks each scored 20 points in the Bearcats' 84-60 win over Central Christian, while Lewis' Delaney Blaylock put up a GLVC-high 28 points on the night in the Flyers' 85-73 outcome over Saint Francis.

The Tritons had four players score in double figures, led by Hunter Reine with 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting to go along with 14 rebounds. Saint Joseph's boasted six players in double figures. Nick Jeffirs scored a team-high 18 points, while Isaiah Carpenter netted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Panthers netted a 92-72 home win over the Miners as Tevin Foster's 21 points led four other teammates in double-digit scoring. Quincy's Joseph Tagarelli posted 29 points and 17 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season in a 91-90 victory against rival Truman. Elijah Watson led the Tritons with 18 points, while junior D.J. White picked up his second double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in UMSL's 66-62 victory over Maryville. In non-conference action, the GLVC went 6-1 on the day with wins by Bellarmine, Indianapolis, McKendree, Rockhurst, Southern Indiana and UW-Parkside. McKendree's Michael Jackson led all GLVC scorers with 27 points in the Bearcats' 92-70 victory over Trevecca Nazarene.
