INDIANAPOLIS – University of Indianapolis junior hurdler Eli Stidd and junior thrower Vincent Ziraldo have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the Conference office Wednesday.
Stidd ran a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8.23 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles at the Ohio State Invitational this past weekend. His effort is ranked third among GLVC competitors this year.
The Bloomington, Indiana native earns his first career weekly honor.
Ziraldo won the 35-pound weight throw this past weekend at the DePauw Indoor Classic with an NCAA provisional toss of 17.95 meters. HIs mark is the best among GLVC competitors this year and currently 23rd nationally.
This is the first weekly honor for the Visalia, California product.
