INDIANAPOLIS - Nine Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) football teams are looking ahead to the 2016 conference season as National Signing Day is officially here. Four-time defending GLVC Champion Indianapolis (10-2, 8-0 GLVC) looks to strengthen its squad on Wednesday with a host of newcomers signing on to play for the Greyhounds.
The 2015 campaign marked an exciting season for McKendree University (8-2, 6-2) and Missouri S&T (5-5, 5-3) as they finished second and third in the league, respectively. Truman State University and William Jewell College tied for fourth at 4-4 in GLVC action, followed by Saint Joseph's College, Quincy University and Southwest Baptist University at 3-5. Lincoln University joins Southwest Baptist for the third season as an affiliate member of GLVC football.
The GLVC's 2016 slate will feature nine conference teams competing in an 11-game regular season. The schedule will consist of eight league contests and three non-conference opponents.
