EVANSVILLE, Ind. — University of Indianapolis senior pitcher Morgan Foley has been named the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) Midwest Region Softball Pitcher and Player of the Year, in a vote by the Midwest Region's sports information directors. In addition, 11 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) standouts were named to the All-Midwest Region teams, including seven on the first team.

Foley, the GLVC Pitcher of the Year, went 40-4 in the circle this season with a 0.85 ERA and 497 strikeouts. She concluded her career with a 140-27 overall record, a 1.20 ERA, and 1,659 career strikeouts.

After breaking the NCAA all-Divisions single-game strikeouts record (30) two years ago, Foley set the NCAA Division II seven-inning strikeout record when she fanned 21 batters in a no-hitter against Hillsdale College earlier this season.

Her efforts this season propelled the Greyhounds to a 51-5 overall record, the GLVC title, and the top seed in the NCAA II Midwest Region Tournament.

Both Indianapolis and Wayne State were represented well on the D2CCA All-Midwest Region teams. In addition to Foley, UIndy was represented on the first team by junior second baseman Katie Kelly and junior outfielder Natalie Lalich.

Rounding out the first-team All-Midwest Region selections is University of Southern Indiana junior catcher Haley Hodges; Ashland University senior first baseman Jen Moore; University of Missouri-St. Louis senior shortstop Alex Stupek and senior pitcher Hannah Perryman; Lewis University sophomore outfielder Jenna Cairo; Trevecca Nazarene University senior outfielder Shelby Andrews, senior pitcher Haley Fagan, and freshman designated player Mary Collins; and Salem International University senior utility player (non-pitcher) Katie Chryssofos.

All first-team honorees will advance to the national ballot for All-America consideration.

The D2CCA All-Midwest Region second team includes Trevecca Nazarene senior catcher Jordan Griner, freshman first baseman Caitlyn Hudgins, and senior shortstop Ansley Brantley; Grand Valley State University junior second baseman Jenna Lenza, freshman pitcher Allison Lipovsky, senior pitcher Sara Andrasik, and junior designated player Ellie Balbach; Missouri-St. Louis sophomore third baseman Jennah Perryman; Ferris State University junior third baseman Bailey Darwin; Hillsdale College junior outfielder Bekah Kastning; Wayne State sophomore outfielder Kristen Lucas; Truman State University freshman outfielder Christa Reisinger; University of Findlay sophomore pitcher Chelsea McManaway; Southern Indiana freshman utility player (non-pitcher) Caitlyn Bradley; and Bellarmine University senior utility player (pitcher) Ally Foster.
