GLVC men's basketball tips this week with what has become the most anticipated regular-season conference series of the year. GLVC East Division Leader No. 13 Bellarmine (12-2, 4-0 GLVC) travels to GLVC West Division leader #arv Quincy (15-1, 5-0) on Thursday, while travel partner and fellow East leader No. 17 Southern Indiana (14-0, 4-0) heads to Truman State (12-3, 4-1), which sits second in the West. In a conference rarity, Bellarmine will turn around the next night and play Truman, allowing the Bulldogs to complete a third-straight day of competition with an exhibition at Division I No. 9 Creighton on Saturday at 12 p.m. A few hours later, USI and Quincy will tip at the Hawks' Pepsi Arena at 3:15 p.m.

It was a thrilling night in GLVC men's basketball that saw No. 9 Bellarmine win 103-96 in overtime at No. 24 Quincy, while No. 10 Southern Indiana's Jeril Taylor recorded a school-record 50 points in the Screaming Eagles' 111-89 win at Truman State to remain undefeated at 15-0. Taylor's mark fell just two points shy of the GLVC single-game record, shared by three individuals, most recently Lewis' Max Strus last year. The 50 points are also the third-most scored in NCAA Division II play this year. Bellarmine and Southern Indiana moved to 5-0 in GLVC play, as did fellow East Division foes Lewis and UW-Parkside. The Flyers went to the wire with Missouri-St. Louis, 76-73, and the Rangers held on against Maryville, 83-78. UIndy earned its third straight league win with a 114-83 victory over Missouri S&T. Illinois Springfield picked up its first conference win of the season with an 89-85 result at William Jewell. GLVC West teams Drury and Rockhurst picked up wins as well, as the Panthers netted a 90-77 win at Saint Joseph's and the Hawks defended their home court with an 81-65 win over McKendree.

No. 10 USI rallied from 10 points down in the second half to earn the top-25 win on the road to remain undefeated 16-0 on the season and 6-0 in GLVC play. The loss dropped Quincy into a first-place tie with rival Truman State in the GLVC West, while Lewis and UW-Parkside moved to 6-0 with USI in the East.
