A big week of GLVC women's basketball is upcoming this week, as teams return to cross-divisional play that includes a top-25 contest between West leader and No. 12 Drury (19-2, 11-0 GLVC) at No. 11 Bellarmine (17-3, 9-2 GLVC) on Thursday night before Drury visits East leader Southern Indiana (18-3, 10-1 GLVC) Saturday afternoon. Indianapolis (14-7, 8-3 GLVC), fresh off its upset win over Bellarmine, will be traveling to Truman State (10-10, 5-6 GLVC) – both fourth-place in the East and West, respectively – Thursday night, while West second-place Rockhurst (12-6, 7-4 GLVC) welcomes East's third-place Lewis (16-5, 8-3 GLVC) Saturday afternoon.

No. 9 Drury picked up the top-25 victory on the road at No. 15 Bellarmine, 83-72, as Briana Jones came off the bench to lead all scorers with 25 points. Also grabbing road wins were Saint Joseph's at Quincy, Maryville at McKendree, Missouri-St. Louis at Illinois Springfield and Lewis at William Jewell. The top scorer in those games was UMSL's Laura Szorenyi, who notched 31 in the Tritons 77-73 win to help head coach Katie Vaughn earn her 100th career victory. At home, Rockhurst and Southern Indiana picked up wins with all five USI starters scoring in double figures to include Morgan Dahlstrom's 16-point, 10-rebound double-double. Despite a big night from Martha Burse, who also scored 31, Indianapolis fell to Truman State 71-61 on the road. The Bulldogs were led by Rachel Edmundson's 20 points and five three-pointers, while Brooke Bailey added 18 points on six threes.

Saturday produced some shakeups in GLVC women's basketball with a number of unexpected results around the league. Southern Indiana added another upset to its resume with an 84-78 win past No. 9 Drury, snapping the Panthers 12-game win streak and handing Drury its first GLVC loss of the season while extending its own league-best win streak to six. Quincy also dealt a surprising blow to Indianapolis with an 84-80 overtime win at home to earn its second league victory in 2016-17. Five Hawks scored in double figures, including Lauren Gronewold with 21. Maryville extended its win streak to five consecutive games in a 68-64 road win at Illinois Springfield. While another big win came from Saint Jospeh's, as it defeated Truman State by 10 behind Kalea Parks' huge effort of 27 points and 12 rebounds. Lewis won its fourth game in a row with a 71-66 win at Rockhurst with Jessica Kelliher collecting a game-high 11 rebounds and 24 points to lead the way. The Flyers' win was also head coach Kristen Gillespie's 100th career victory. Elsewhere, William Jewell nearly hit 90 in an 89-65 win against UW-Parkside thanks to Kayla Harrell's double-double of 18 points and 10 boards, while Missouri-St. Louis picked up another nice win with a 63-58 road win at McKendree, and Bellarmine made it an even 4-4 record for East and West teams with a 78-66 home victory against Missouri S&T with two reaching 20 points, including 22 from Sarah Galvin and 20 from Raven Merriweather.
