GLVC men's basketball teams are back at it for the second week of the 2017-18 season, with Illinois Springfield kicking off action at home tonight against Harris-Stowe (Mo.). Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. and will be streamed on all GLVCSN mobile and OTT platforms, including

Illinois Springfield picked up its first win of the season, utilizing a 67-point second half en route to a 92-85 win over Harris-Stowe State University. The Prairie Stars (1-2) had five players in double-figures to best the Hornets (1-3), in a throwback American Midwest Conference (AMC) game. The Prairie Stars, who left the AMC in 2008 after becoming an NCAA Division II institution, improved to 13-1 all-time against the Hornets, including wins in each of the last two seasons. Eddie Longmeyer led the way for the Prairie Stars with 24 points, seven boards, three assists, and two steals. Longmeyer scored 21 of his 24 points in the second half, shooting 6-of-7 from the field down the stretch and hitting 9-of-12 from the line. |
