Every home team defended its court in the opening day of GLVC action. Drury's win against Missouri-St. Louis was a complete team effort, as all 11 players that saw action scored at last one bucket. Southern Indiana's Kaydie Grooms dropped a game-high 23 points with six rebounds in the win over Lewis, while Sydney Offield's double-double of 15 points and 1- rebounds paced William Jewell against Maryville. Despite Ashley Montanez's game-high 23 points for UIndy, UW-Parkside came away with a win thanks to four players scoring in double digits. Three Rockhurst starters produced double-digit performances, as well, to lead the Hawks past Quincy. |

Four out of the seven games were won by home teams Saturday afternoon, including Truman State's league-opening win and both Rockhurst and William Jewell moving to 2-0 in Conference play. Drury was the other team to win at home with ease in a 75-57 win past McKendree. Another squad picking up its first win in the GLVC was Illinois Springfield thanks to a big 72-46 road win at Missouri S&T, while Southern Indiana went to 2-0 with its 73-66 road victory at Indianapolis. Lewis was the other winner, collecting its first in Conference play with an 81-55 result at Bellarmine.
