It will be a relatively light week on the hardwood as several GLVC men's basketball programs will closing out the semester with finals. McKendree will be the first team in action on Wednesday, hosting Salem International on GLVCSN. Lewis and UIndy take to the court against non-conference opponents on Thursday, while Maryville and Southern Indiana are slated for non-conference home games on Friday. Action picks up on Saturday with seven teams in action, including Illinois Springfield, Indianapolis, Quincy, Rockhurst, Truman State, UW-Parkside and William Jewell.

It was a clean sweep for GLVC teams in non-conference play on Thursday, as Indianapolis, Lewis and McKendree all found the win column. Lewis exploded to a 34-3 lead and never looked back, defeating St. Francis, 77-41. The Flyers (4-6) scored the first nine points of the game and then went on runs of 11-0 and 14-0 to build their lead. It took over 14 minutes before UIndy took the lead on Thursday, but the Greyhounds overcame a 9-0 deficit to cruise to their first victory since Nov. 30 against Bluefield State, 91-74. It was the first game between the schools' in each program's history. All 11 players found the scoring column Thursday as McKendree earned its second win in as many nights thanks to a 111-74 triumph over Robert Morris University-Springfield. The Bearcats put on another impressive shooting display, knocking down 54.3 percent (38-of-70) of their field goal attempts in cruising to its second win of the season over the visiting Eagles.

For the second time this season, Nolan Berry and Robin Thompson notched double-doubles in the same game as Maryville held off Harris-Stowe, 86-83. The visiting Hornets drained 15 3-pointers to stay close but Berry had 32 points and 11 rebounds, while Thompson notched 14 points and 10 boards. In Evansville, Southern Indiana posted a 26-point Midwest Region win over Urbana, 95-69. USI, which has won its seven-straight, was led by Alex Stein with 25 points and Nate Hansen, who came off the bench to add 20 points.

Illinois Springfield, Rockhurst, Truman State and William Jewell captured non-conference wins on Saturday. UIS took a two-point lead into the half, but exploded for 60 points in the second half to take down Glenville State, 93-69. Gilwan Nelson scored a career-high 24 points, hitting 6-of-7 from three to lead the Prairie Stars. Five players scored in double figures, led by senior guard Travis House's 17 points off the bench, to help Rockhurst to a 104-80 victory over Bethel College. Truman State's Jack Green poured in a career-high 25 points and was one of four in double-figures as the Bulldogs defeated Ohio Valley by five, 89-84. Patrick Whelan led all scorers with 29 points on 10-of-20 from the floor and 6-of-12 from behind the three-point line while adding eight rebounds and three assists to help William Jewell to a 98-74 victory over Avila.

Drury, McKendree and Quincy picked up wins Sunday to close out the week. Drury fought off a late charge from Embry-Riddle to earn an 84-79 road win at the ICI Center in Daytona Beach. The Panthers improved to 8-2 while dropping the Eagles to 5-6. Drury led 48-38 at halftime and built a 14-point lead early in the second half. Senior guard Justin Blanks poured in a season-high 31 points to lead McKendree to an 84-65 victory against Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras in the first of two games for the Bearcats in Puerto Rico. Quincy shot over 53 percent from the field in the Hawks' 95-55 win over Ohio Valley. QU knocked down 11 three-pointers, six coming from sophomore guard Robert DeVries.
