INDIANAPOLIS - After three days of competition, Drury University will enter the final day atop the men's and women's standings at the 2017 GLVC Swimming and Diving Championships after numerous records were broken Thursday at the Crawfordsville Aquatic Center in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

The Panthers extended their lead on both the men's and women's side to triple digits. The Drury men now hold a 124.5-point lead and the women boast an advantage of 115 points in the women's competition.

Day three of the fourth annual league championship saw 12 more GLVC champions crowned, with one diving and seven swimming records broken along with five pool records. A total of 18 records have been set to this point in the event, while there were 15 new standards reached after the third day a year ago.

For the men, Drury has accumulated 630 points to best second-place Missouri S&T (505.5). University of Indianapolis remains third in the race with 423.5 points, followed by Truman State University (314), Lewis University (264), William Jewell College (221), McKendree University (198), University of Missouri-St. Louis (196), Bellarmine University (92) and Maryville University (36).

Drury scored 693 points on the women's side, while Truman State (578) and Indianapolis (423) sit second and third, respectively. William Jewell (319) and Lewis (272) are fourth and fifth, followed by Maryville (156), Quincy University (154), Bellarmine (136), Missouri-St. Louis (131) and McKendree (70).

It was again a UIndy diver that earned the first record and gold medal of the day, as Josh Zylstra scored 551.65 points in the 3-meter dive to set the new standard in the GLVC. His 1-meter score (483.7), combined with the 3-meter result totaled 1,035.35 to give him the title of GLVC Men's Diver of the Year, marking the third consecutive year that a Greyhound has won the title. On the women's 1-meter boards, Maryville's Dalis McGreevy took first with a 370.80, but it was teammate Kaylee Fox who was named GLVC Women's Diver of the Year after totaling 729.05 to claim the trophy after a 1-meter score of 370.30 for second place to go along with her winning 358.75 in the 3-meter yesterday.

In the opening race Friday night, Drury's Erica Dahlgren won the women's 500-yard Freestyle while her counterpart Joan Casanovas broke the GLVC and pool record in 4:22.02 for another Panther victory.

The records and the golds continued to pile up for Drury, as Katya Rudenko dove in for a 53.63 time in the 100-yard Backstroke, besting her previous GLVC record of 54.14 from 2015. Bailee Nunn followed up with another record added to her resume with a 1:00.04 in the 100-yard Breaststroke, which was also a new pool standard. Jun Han Kim wrapped up the records for the Panthers with his performance in the 200-yard Butterfly (1:45.93), earning him the new GLVC and pool mark. Not a record but still a victory was Drury's effort in the women's 800-yard Freestyle Relay (7:28.65), which made the Panthers a perfect 4-for-4 in women's relay events thus far.

Other record breakers included Missouri S&T's Miguel Chavez, who finished the 100 Breast (54.01) first to also set a new pool record. In the women's 200 Fly, William Jewell's Paige Meredith notched a gold and a Conference standard with her time of 2:03.26.

In the men's 100 Back, Indianapolis' Rodrigo Codo Berti touched the wall at 48.19 for the win before Missouri S&T's 800 Free Relay team concluded the action by setting a Conference and record in 6:31.38, besting the Miners' 2014 record time of 6:32.52.

All first- and second-place finishers are awarded first- and second-team All-GLVC honors, respectively.
