The last full week of GLVC men's basketball is upon us and action gets an early start this week as William Jewell hosts McKendree in a conference matchup that was postponed due to weather on Jan. 14. That will be the only cross-divisional contest of the week, with the rest of the league reverting back to its divisional slate. Among the headliners this week, UIndy (14-9, 11-4 GLVC) will host the other two teams tied with the Hounds for third in the East, Lewis (16-9, 11-4) and UW-Parkside (19-5, 11-4). Rockhurst (14-9, 8-7), tied for third with Drury in the GLVC West, hits the road to battle the divisional leaders, including first-place Quincy (21-5, 11-4) on Thursday and second-place Truman State (18-7, 10-5) on Saturday.

Five Cardinals scored in double figures to lead William Jewell to an 87-81 GLVC win over McKendree on Monday night. The game was a make up from January 14 when the game was postponed due to winter weather. Senior Jorge Perez-Laham led the Cards with 24 points, six assists and four steals on the night. Emil Ostafiicuic earned his third double double of the year with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Junior guard Justin Blanks posted a double-double with a season-high 32 points along with 12 rebounds as McKendree nearly overcame a 17-point, first-half deficit. Senior guard Michael Jackson added 25 points before fouling out late in the contest.

Quincy used a buzzer-beater at home to defeat Rockhurst 76-75 Thursday and maintain first place in the GLVC West at 12-4. Truman State, which garnered a 92-86 victory over William Jewell, stayed one game behind the Hawks at 11-5 in league play. In the East, Bellarmine moved to 15-1 in the GLVC after a 96-72 home win against McKendree. The Knights are followed closely by Southern Indiana, which posted a 90-57 victory over Illinois Springfield in a game that saw USI senior Jeril Taylor surpass 1,000 paoints for his career. Indianapolis put itself in a position to earn a first-round bye for the upcoming GLVC Championship Tournament, as the Greyhounds scored an 81-69 decision over Lewis. The other team tied with UIndy and Lewis for third entering the night, UW-Parkside, was tripped up at Saint Joseph's, 84-79. Parkside fell to 11-5 on the season and will battle Indianapolis on Saturday. Elsewhere in the league, Drury defeated Maryville 68-65 and Missouri S&T held off Missouri-St. Louis, 69-66.
