At the conclusion of the GLVC Championships the women’s coaches selected Bellarmine junior Meghan Roby and Lewis sophomore Cierra Pulliam as the GLVC Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, while fellow Flyer Allie Heinzer was named GLVC Freshman of the Year. Lewis mentor Dana Schwarting was also honored with GLVC Coach of the Year distinction.

On the men’s side, McKendree sophomore Demontez McCray was tabbed GLVC Track Athlete of the Year, while Saint Joseph’s junior Phil Thompson and UIndy sophomore Austin Hogan shared GLVC Field Athlete of the Year.  In other awards, Saint Joseph’s newcomer Davon Haynes was picked as GLVC Freshman of the Year and Lewis’ Schwarting was named GLVC Coach of the Year.

The league also recognized its annual GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honorees. The student-athletes chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
