GLVC men's basketball action is back in action this Thursday and Saturday with seven contests each day and all 14 games streamed live and free on all GLVCSN platforms.  In a quick turnaround, Rockhurst and William Jewell will meet once again after Jewell defeated the Hawks in Kansas City last Thursday, 76-72.  Now Rockhurst makes the short trip to Liberty for a 7:30 p.m. CT tip against a Jewell team looking to get back in the win column after falling to No. 3 Bellarmine on Saturday.  The Knights remain on the road with stops at Lewis on Thursday and UW-Parkside on Saturday.  UIndy will also have stiff East Division competition this week with a road trip to Southern Indiana on Thursday and a home game against Lewis on Saturday.  McKendree will host Maryville on Thursday and then hit the road to St. Louis to battle UMSL on Saturday.  The Tritons play at Illinois Springfield Thursday, but then the Prairie Stars travel to Quincy on Saturday.  Truman State will be on the road all week with stops at Missouri S&T and Rockhurst.  Drury is idle again on Thursday and back on the court Saturday for a 3 p.m. tip against Missouri S&T.

Keith Hayes scored just eight points against Rockhurst one week ago, but returned to the court to post 25 against the Hawks tonight to give William Jewell an 80-65 win, which also marked the 900th career victory for head coach Larry Holley.  The Cardinals mentor becomes just the 10th coach in men's college basketball history, at any level, to reach this prestigious milestone.  No. 3 Bellarmine continued its winning ways, moving to 14-0 on the season with a 66-54 victory at Lewis.  Bellarmine's Brent Bach, the reigning GLVC Player of the Week, led all scorers with 21 points.  Adam Eberhard dropped in 19 points and added four rebounds and four assists.  Truman State earned its fourth straight win with a 96-73 victory over Missouri S&T, vaulting the Bulldogs to the top of the GLVC West at 4-1.  Brodric Thomas was one rebound shy of Truman's second triple-double in as many years as he finished with 34 points (Bulldogs' first 30-point game of 2017-18), 12 assists (tied for second in program history), nine boards, one block, and a steal. In the process, he tied his career high for points (34 at SWCC) while setting a new personal best for assists, field goals made (16) and field goals attempted (30).  Maryville maintained its GLVC Central lead with a 79-66 win at McKendree.  Nolan Berry and Robin Thompson both notched double-doubles, while Jimmy Barton scored a season-high 17 points for the Saints.  Elsewhere in the league, Southern Indiana's Alex Stein scored 25 points and moved into seventh place all-time in school annals while leading the Screaming Eagles to an 87-65 victory over Indianapolis.  Eddie Longmeyer helped Illinois Springfield to a 61-59 win over Missouri-St. Louis.  Longmeyer netted a game-high 18 points and added nine rebounds and five assists in the win.

UW-Parkside's Adam Bonk had 16 points and led four other Rangers in double figures as Parkside stunned No. 2 Bellarmine 80-68 in Kenosha on Saturday.  The loss is the first of the season for the Knights, who were led by Adam Eberhard's game-high 24 points.  Drury won its sixth straight game while totaling a season high for points and school record for three-pointers made (20-38) in a 118-74 win over Missouri S&T.  Six Panthers scored in double figures, led by Andrew Ballock's 18 points.  Truman State defeated Rockhurst 107-95, and has now scored 100 points three times in a season for the first time since the 2014-15 campaign and have eclipsed 90 points in each victory during this five-game winning streak.  Senior Elijah Watson scored a season-high 24 points, including the game-winner with 0.9 seconds to play, to help Missouri-St. Louis to a 59-57 win over visiting McKendree.  The two other league contests went into overtime Saturday. UIndy pulled out an 80-79 overtime victory over Lewis and has now won 10 or more games in nine consecutive seasons.  Tate Hall had a career-high 25 points, while Ajay Lawton recorded his first-career double-double with 13 points and 11 assists for the Greyhounds.  At Quincy, Illinois Springfield's Gilwan Nelson and Eddie Longmeyer scored 27 and 22 points, respectively, to help the visiting Prairie Stars past the Hawks in overtime, 98-89.
