Bellarmine has improved to No. 2 in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Poll, it was announced Tuesday.  The ranking is the highest for Bellarmine or any GLVC team since the Knights concluded last season ranked second in the final poll.

Bellarmine (13-0, 4-0 GLVC) received three of the 16 first-place votes and was just five points shy of the No. 1 ranking held by Queens (N.C.), last week's No. 2 team.

The Knights defeated the GLVC Central and West leaders this past week.  In Thursday's 70-63 win over Maryville, Bellarmine rallied from 15 points down in the first half to put away the Saints and extend its nation's-longest home winning streak to 51 games.  After making the eight-hour trip to William Jewell, a team that was previously 7-0 at home, the Knights gave head coach Scott Davenport his 300th career victory with an 81-58 win over the Cardinals.

Speaking of the Cardinals, William Jewell (13-2, 3-2) continues to receive votes outside the top 25 poll.
