Four GLVC football games are on tap for this Saturday, including a battle between the league’s top two teams with No. 22 Indianapolis visiting Missouri S&T in Saturday’s nightcap at 7 p.m.  In fact, this week’s opponents mirror the current league standings.

The Greyhounds are currently 3-1 overall and 2-0 in GLVC action, while the Miners are 4-1 on the year and 1-0 in league play.  Missouri S&T was the only other team to garner a first-place vote from the coaches in the annual preseason poll and entered the year picked to finish second in the GLVC with McKendree.

The Bearcats, who are 3-2 on the year and 1-0 in the conference, welcomes Truman State, which will also be looking to go 2-0 in GLVC play and even its record at 3-3 this year.  Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT in Lebanon, Illinois.

Following McKendree and Truman in the standings is Lincoln (2-3, 1-1) and Quincy (1-4, 0-1).  The Blue Tigers will host the Hawks for a 2 p.m. kick in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The other game on the docket this weekend is Southwest Baptist (0-4, 0-2) and William Jewell (0-4, 0-2) as both teams will meet at 1 p.m. CT to vie for their first win of the season.

GLVCSN will stream all four home contests this week across all of its platforms, including GLVCSN.com, the GLVCSN iOS and Android apps, and the GLVCSN OTT apps on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV.  Be sure to download or upgrade to the newest GLVCSN mobiles apps, which now feature push notifications.  Now you can know exactly when your favorite school or team begins its stream.

It was a thrilling Saturday in GLVC football action as the first three contests were decided by a touchdown or less.  Andy Satulla's two-yard rush with 3:31 to go and a Bulldog defensive stand inside their 10-yardline allowed Truman to escape McKendree with a 45-38 shootout win for their third straight victory.  Truman led 17-14 at the half on Josh Scheiderer's season-long 46-yard field goal but had to endure a lighting delay that extended the start of the second half.  Quincy scored touchdowns at the end of the second quarter and the beginning of the third and stopped Lincoln on a late fourth quarter drive to edge the Blue Tigers, 14-13.  William Jewell earned its first victory of the 2018 season by outscoring Southwest Baptist, 14-10. Jewell linebacker Antonio Wabanimkee played a major role in the Cardinals’ first GLVC win. Wabanimkee recorded 1.5 sacks on the game and seven solo tackles.  In the nightcap, Missouri S&T held a 14-3 advantage over No. 22 Indianapolis in the second half, but the teams were forced to endure multiple lightning delays.  When played resumed, UIndy scored 21 of the final 24 points to earn a 24-17 victory over the Miners
