This Week in GLVC Women's Basketball: Nov. 29 & Dec. 1

Except for one non-conference game on Thursday for Drury against Rogers State, it's all GLVC action this week with games set for Thursday and Saturday. Truman, Quincy, Maryville and Missouri-St. Louis will host both days, while Lewis and Southern Indiana play host for Saturday. On the road for two will be Rockhurst, William Jewell, Illinois Springfield, and McKendree, while Missouri S&T, Bellarmine and Indianapolis will play a single contest on Saturday.

All home games are scheduled to be streamed across all GLVCSN platforms, including GLVCSN.com, GLVCSN iOS and Android mobile apps, and GLVCSN OTT apps on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV.

McKendree got the lone road win to open GLVC play with a 72-55 result at Missouri-St. Louis. Sydney Diekhoff's game-high 21 points paced the Bearcats, while Rachel Edmundson scored 20 for Truman State in a 73-56 win over Rockhurst. Maryville also got 20 from Mary Barton en route to the 74-64 win over Illinois Springfield, and Quincy topped William Jewell, 58-49. Elsewhere, Drury had no trouble with visiting Rogers State in non-conference play, winning 88-46.

Rockhurst and McKendree won on the road, as the Hawks earned their first league win of the season with a 74-67 result at Quincy, and the Bearcats moved to 2-0 in Conference play for the first time in program history after defeating Maryville, 68-47. Indianapolis also scored 68 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome No. 24 Lewis, as the Flyers tallied 73 in their first league win this season paced by Jessica Kelliher with 20 points and double-figure scoring from the other four starters. Arielle Jackson paced Missouri-St. Louis to an 82-54 win past Illinois Springfield with 23 points, while teammate Kiara Stewart grabbed a game- and career-high 14 rebounds. No. 8 Drury hit the century mark en route to a big win over Missouri S&T in its league opener, 113-61, as six players scored in double figures led by Hailey Diestelkamp with 17. Elsewhere, Southern Indiana collected a 77-70 win over visiting Bellarmine to win its league opener, while Truman State moved to 2-0 in Conference play with a last-second foul shot to secure the 60-59 win against William Jewell.
