Lewis and Bellarmine will close out 2018 for GLVC women's basketball with a couple of New Year's Eve games at home on GLVCSN, while regularly schedule league programming picks up in 2019 on Thursday with six games and Saturday with seven. All 13 of those games will be viewable on GLVCSN.

Both Lewis and Bellarmine earned non-conference wins to end 2018 on a high note. Jessica Kelliher paced the Flyers with 23 points, adding six rebounds, three assists and a pair of blocks and steals. For the Knights, Mikayla Berry dropped 30 off the bench, grabbing nine boards and dishing out five assists, while Lauren Deel also got 21 points, seven rebounds, three helpers and two takeaways.

No. 20 Lewis made a statement against visiting No. 24 Truman with a 30-point win, 86-56, as Jessica Kelliher scored a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds along with three assists, two blocks and a steal. Fourth-ranked Drury also had no trouble with its opponent, beating William Jewell 71-46 on the road behind Hailey Diestelkamp's double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds. All five Missouri S&T starters tallied double figure scores, including a double-double from Mykala Baylor, who grabbed 11 rebounds and scored 16 points that included the game-winning jumper with 1:32 left in the contest. The balanced effort helped the Miners defeat Rockhurst 77-75 on the road. Four Southern Indiana startes got double figures in leading the Screaming Eagles to an 84-77 win at Maryville. Elsewhere, Quincy and Bellarmine also won on the road at Indianapolis and Missouri-St. Louis, respectively.

No. 4 Drury, No. 24 Truman, and Southern Indiana won on the road Saturday afternoon, while Maryville, Illinois Springfield, No. 20 Lewis and William Jewell picked up home wins. The Panthers, Screaming Eagles, and Flyers moved to 3-0 in league play. The Prairie Stars got their first win in GLVC action with an 84-73 result past McKendree thanks to Jasmine Sangster’s career-high 33 points off the bench in 27 minutes, while Katelyn Rosner set the UIS D-II career blocking record with her 63rd stop. The Saints also got a career-high 30 from Kayla Steward in their 92-81 victory over Bellarmine. In the Cardinals' 78-63 win over Missouri S&T, Sydney Offield tallied 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds for the double-double, while Missouri-St. Louis' Alex LaPorta did the same with 13 and 13 to complement Arielle Jackson's 23 points, but it was USI's Mikayla Rowan who hit the game-winner with 34 seconds to secure the 62-60 road win. Lewis held Quincy to single digits in three of the four quarters and had 12 players score to win with ease, 91-39, and Drury did the same to Rockhurst in the second and third periods to pick up the 21-point win on the road, 62-41. Also, Truman's Sloane Totta was perfect from the floor, scoring a career-high 20 points on 8-of-8 shooting with 2-of-2 from three and the foul line in the Bulldogs' 73-51 road win at Indianapolis for head coach Amy Eagans' 100th.
