INDIANAPOLIS - In the first round of the 2019 Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Soccer Championship Tournament, four teams advanced to Friday's semifinal matches, which will be held in Jeffersonville, Indiana, at the Woerhle Athletic Complex November 15.

Top-seed McKendree University scored a goal in each half to get by No. 8 Lewis University, 2-0. Sophomore Emma Knoebel scored first for the eventual game-winner in the 30th minute, while classmate Riley Ross tallied an insurance goal at the 69:15 mark to help the Bearcats advance to the semifinal round of the postseason for the third time.

No. 2 seed University of Indianapolis was upset by No. 7 seed University of Southern Indiana, 1-0, as the Screaming Eagles repeated their performance from earlier in the season where they took a 1-0 win at home on Sept. 20. Thanks to sophomore Rachel Gray's 36th-minute winner, Southern Indiana advances to its second-straight semifinal contest, while Maya Etienne made five saves to tie USI's single-season shutout record with nine.

Third-seeded Rockhurst University topped sixth-seeded Maryville University, 2-0, as both goals came in the second half within two-and-a-half minutes of each other. Sophomore Elle Guttmann put the Hawks on the board first at 74:00, while classmate McKenna Leetch followed in the 77th minute with the team's second goal. The Hawks return to Jeffersonville with a chance to defend its 2018 Conference crown in their sixth semifinal appearance.

No. 5 Bellarmine University will enjoy its 12th semifinals berth in program history after upsetting No. 4 Truman State University, 1-0, to match its victory over the Bulldogs earlier this season on Sept. 29. Junior Natalie Teo registered her third goal of the season in the 75th minute that held up through the rest of regulation.

USI and Rockhurst will play Friday at 11 a.m. Eastern Time, while Bellarmine and McKendree will face off at 1:30 p.m. The winners will meet in the championship match on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 12 p.m. ET.
