INDIANAPOLIS – For the second consecutive season, McKendree University has captured the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Wrestling Championship after compiling another perfect league record of 6-0 Sunday at Nicoson Hall on the campus of the University of Indianapolis.
The Bearcats entered Sunday’s action tied for first place with UIndy in the Conference standings at 3-0, and both teams scored victories in their first two duals to set up a GLVC Championship showdown between the league’s two unbeaten teams in the final session.
UIndy took second place overall with a 5-1 GLVC record, followed by Maryville University (4-2) and Bellarmine University (3-3) in third and fourth, respectively. Drury University (2-4), Ouachita Baptist University (1-5) and Truman State University (0-6) rounded out the seven-team field after the two-day round-robin schedule.
