Lewis, Missouri S&T Earn GLVC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Honors

INDIANAPOLIS – Lewis University sophomore distance runner John Partee and Missouri S&T sophomore thrower Jarrett Johnson have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the Conference office Friday. 

MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
John Partee, Lewis
So., Distance, Plainfield, Illinois

Team Competition:  No Team Scores, Bryan Clay Invitational
  • Ran 800 meters in an NCAA provisional-qualifying time of 1 minute, 50.97 seconds to finish 35th at Azusa Pacific’s Bryan Clay Invitational
  • Effort leads the GLVC by nearly two seconds and is currently 16th in NCAA DII
  • Second career GLVC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honor
  • Last Lewis Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: John Partee (4/9/19)
 

MEN’S OUTDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jarrett Johnson, Missouri S&T
So., Throws, Webb City, Missouri

Team Competition:  No Team Scores, Dewey Allgood Invitational
  • Improved upon his NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the javelin by eclipsing the 60-meter mark for the first time in his career with a throw of 60.66m (199’0”)
  • Mark is ranked first in the GLVC by more than six meters and 18th in NCAA Division II
  • First career GLVC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honor
