INDIANAPOLIS – The 2020 GLVC Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament bracket was released by the Conference office Saturday evening, following the finale of the 2019-20 regular season. Eight of the league’s 16 schools advanced to the postseason tournament after earning a spot based on the GLVC Point Rating System Rankings. The event will take place at the First Community Arena on the campus of SIU Edwardsville, March 5-8.
Regular Season Champion and top-ranked Drury University (29-0, 20-0 GLVC, 4.58 PRS) concluded the regular season untouched with a 118-70 win over Rockhurst and enters the GLVC Championship Tournament as the No. 1 seed. This is the second consecutive year for the Lady Panthers to complete the GLVC slate unbeaten – just the fifth program in league history to do that. Lewis University went 18-0 in GLVC action during the 2015-16 campaign, while Drury also was 19-0 in 2005-06, and the University of Southern Indiana was a perfect 20-0 in 1996-97. Drury will face No. 8 Maryville University (16-11, 11-9, 3.20) on Thursday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. Central Time. The Saints closed out their season with a 78-53 win against Quincy, while Drury swept Maryville this season with wins on Jan. 16 (70-60) and Feb. 2 (93-58).

The Knights fell to the seventh seed after losing a tiebreaker to UIndy due to the Greyhounds sweep of the Knights during the regular season. In USI’s season finale, the Eagles topped UIndy at home, 81-64, while Bellarmine beat McKendree, 88-59. In their two meetings during the regular season, Bellarmine swept USI, 66-45 (Jan. 11) and 80-49 (Feb. 27).

The Flyers closed out the regular season with an 86-74 loss at Lindenwood University and are set to open the postseason against No. 6 UIndy (19-9, 12-8, 3.35) at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 6. The Flyers and Greyhounds split their two meetings this season, each getting road wins, starting with Lewis on Jan. 2 (73-70) and UIndy on Jan. 30 (52-46).
Truman State (20-8, 16-4, 3.80 PRS) scored a 65-52 win over Missouri S&T this afternoon to end its season with a victory, but it lost a tiebreaker to Lewis and was dealt the fourth seed in the championship tournament. As the 4-seed, the Bulldogs will face No. 5 Lindenwood (18-8, 14-6, 3.68 PRS) in the Lions’ first-ever league postseason event on Friday, March 6 at 2:30 p.m. Truman fell to Lindenwood at home, 72-65, in their only meeting this season.
