As a senior athlete, this is not a new feeling for me, but this time it hit a little bit different. Throughout the years of my collegiate career, this is something that I faced year in and year out during competition.
Today, however, my senior season has come to an abrupt end. No senior day, no postseason tournament, and no more time with my team. I never imagined a season coming to a close in this way. It feels as if it's not supposed to be this way, however I can also stand with the assurance knowing that my team prepared in every way possible and played every game as if it were the last.
I am thankful for the special group that Lindenwood Softball brought me. The endless time in the batting cage, hours training in the offseason, and days of goal-setting meetings formed us into more than just student-athletes.
I am forever thankful for the opportunity to play and experience victory beyond competition.
