INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced the bracket for its 2021 Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament on Saturday evening, following the conclusion of the regular season.

Eight league programs advance to the postseason after earning a berth based on the GLVC Point Rating System (PRS) rankings. Quarterfinal contests will tip on Wednesday, March 3, from the campuses of seeds Nos. 1-4, with the four winners moving on to the highest-remaining seed for the semifinals on Saturday, March 6. The GLVC champion will be determined on Sunday, March 7.

West Division champion Drury University (17-1, 4.58 PRS) enters the tournament as the top seed after capping its regular season with a 93-74 win at Quincy University on Saturday afternoon. Vying for its fifth-straight GLVC championship and eighth overall, the Panthers will host eighth-seeded University of Indianapolis (11-10, 3.24 PRS) on Wednesday from the O’Reilly Family Event Center in Springfield, Mo., at 6 p.m. CT. Previously on a six-game winning streak, the Greyhounds lost their final two regular season contests by one point apiece. It will be the first meeting of the season between the two programs, as Drury and UIndy were scheduled to meet on Feb. 18 before COVID-19 health and safety protocols halted the game.

Second-seeded and Central Division winner Truman State University (14-3, 4.56 PRS) opens tournament action against seventh-seeded Maryville University (11-10, 3.26 PRS) on Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. Central time. The Bulldogs have won three-straight games, heading into the tournament following a 47-41 victory over Southwest Baptist University on Saturday. Winners of four its last five contests, Maryville dropped both games to Truman earlier this season: 67-62 on Dec. 31 and 83-72 on Jan. 16.

Third-seeded and East Division champion University of Southern Indiana (11-5, 3.84 PRS) welcomes sixth-seeded William Jewell College (12-10, 3.34 PRS) for a 5:30 p.m. CT tip in Evansville, Ind., on Wednesday. The Screaming Eagles have been idle since Feb. 13 due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, but enter the tournament splitting their last two contests. Jewell won seven of its last nine games to close the regular season, which includes a 70-58 victory over USI on Feb. 4 in Liberty, Mo. The Cardinals dropped an 80-55 decision to Southern Indiana back on Nov. 29 and closed out the regular season Saturday with a 72-66 win over cross-town rival Rockhurst.

Fourth-seeded Lewis University (13-8, 3.62 PRS) hosts fifth-seeded University of Missouri-St. Louis (11-7, 3.53 PRS) on Wednesday in Romeoville, Ill. at 6 p.m. CT. The Flyers have won three of their last four games, including a 90-77 decision over Maryville on Saturday in the regular season finale. Missouri-St. Louis picked up a win over Lindenwood on Thursday to close the regular season with a win, and are victors of two of their last three games. The Flyers squeaked by the Tritons, 87-75, on Jan. 5, in the teams’ lone meeting of the season.
