MANHEIM, Pa. - McKendree University and University of Indianapolis were recognized on Monday, earning postseason National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Super Region individuals honors.

McKendree's Ryan Vasbinder was named the SR4 Wrestler of the Year, adding to his cupboard of postseason honors this year. Prior to winning the DII national title at 197 in St. Louis on March 13, Vasbinder earned Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Wrestler of the Year and won his weight class at the super regional event.

Vasbinder was joined by teammate Cory Peterson, who was honored as the SR4 Rookie of the Year. The Valmeyer, Ill., product finished third at nationals this season, posting a 9-4 overall record on his way to a regional title at 165.

UIndy's Logan Bailey was also dubbed SR3's Rookie of the Year after advancing to nationals as a freshman. At 149, Bailey placed third at the SR3 championships and finished the campaign with an 11-4 mark.

Vasbinder is now eligible for NWCA National Wrestler of the Year honors, which will be announced on April 5. Bailey and Peterson also stamped their names on the ballot for the organization's National Rookie of the Year award. The complete list of honorees can be found below.
