INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Lakes Valley Conference released Saturday night the bracket for the 2020-21 GLVC Volleyball Championship Tournament. Lewis University earned the No. 1 seed and the East Division title. The tournament is again being held in East Peoria, Ill., at the EastSide Centre from Friday, April 16 through Sunday, April 18.

The University of Missouri-St. Louis, University of Southern Indiana, and Quincy University respectively earned seeds 2-4, while UMSL claimed the Central Division title. West Division champion Missouri S&T will be the No. 5 seed, while Lindenwood University filled the No. 6 spot with defending tournament champion Rockhurst University at No. 7. Truman State University rounds out the field in eighth.

At 16-1 overall and in league play with a .941 winning percentage and a 4.68 GLVC Point Rating System (PRS) ranking, the top-ranked Flyers won the divisional title and the top seed in this year's postseason. On Friday, April 16 at 9 p.m. Central Time, Lewis will play a quarterfinal match against No. 8 Truman State (10-9, 9-7 GLVC, 3.28). Earlier in the season, Lewis swept the Bulldogs 3-0 on the road Feb. 28. This is the 30th bid to the postseason for the Flyers, as they will look to lengthen their league record for GLVC Championship crowns with No. 11. Truman will be making its sixth appearance and is eyeing its third league title.

Riding an eight-match win streak, divisional champs Missouri-St. Louis (15-2, 15-2) picked up the second seed with a PRS rating of 4.46. The Tritons will battle 7-seed and defending tourney champs Rockhurst (12-6, 10-6, 3.406) Friday, April 17 at 2 p.m. in the quarterfinal round. The eighth-ranked Tritons beat the Hawks 3-1 on Feb. 27 at home. This is UMSL's 20th trip to the league event, while Rockhurst's 15th bid, as the Hawks have qualified every single year since becoming a league member in 2005 with three titles to their name.

Overall, 3-seed Southern Indiana went 14-4 during the regular season with the same record in GLVC action and a 3.90 PRS mark, and will face No. 6 Lindenwood (11-7, 11-7, 3.417) in the opening match on Friday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m. This quarterfinal contest will be a rematch from Feb. 20 where the Screaming Eagles won in a sweep at home. USI is ranked 24th in the nation by the AVCA and riding high after knocking off top-ranked Lewis in the season finale. The Lions will get their first taste of GLVC postseason action, while USI is enjoying its 21st berth but first since 2015, having won two previous tournaments.

In the 5:30 p.m. quarterfinal match on Friday, April 16, 4-seed Quincy (15-6, 12-6, 3.68) will take on 5-seed divisional champ Missouri S&T (12-6, 12-6, 3.64). The Miners won in four sets over the Hawks on March 13 in one of the neutral-site, pod tri-match contests. Quincy makes its first tournament appearance since 2016 and 10th overall, while S&T is seeing the postseason for the 7th time.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a limited number of spectators will be admitted to the tournament at 200 per match with masking and social distancing required. Admission is $10 for adults, as well as $5 for students with ID, seniors 65 and up, and youth ages 6 and up. Children 5 and under are free.

All GLVC Championship Tournament action will be streamed live and free on GLVCSN.com, the GLVCSN iOS and Android mobile apps, and GLVCSN OTT apps on Roku, Amazon fireTV, Apple TV, and Android TV.
