McKendree University’s Maggie Dudas was named Monday as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office.  Dudas contributed in goal to the Bearcats’ 2-0 home shutouts over Missouri S&T and Drury last week.

In Friday’s two-goal win against Missouri S&T, the junior goalkeeper registered four saves on seven shots.  The St. Peter’s, Mo., native returned two days later to grab a career-best eight saves on 13 shots in the 2-0 blanking over Drury.

On the year, Dudas is 7-3-1 with five shutouts. 

This is the first weekly honor for Dudas and also marks the first weekly accolade awarded to the McKendree women’s soccer program.

The Bearcats are sixth in the GLVC at 6-3-1 in conference play and 7-3-1 overall.  They are back in action this Friday at Rockhurst, followed by a road trip to William Jewell on Sunday.
