Rockhurst University junior forward Mark Magee has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week, it was announced Monday by the league office.

Magee led the 16th-ranked Hawks with a pair of goals and four points last week in wins over Drury and Missouri S&T.  The Moreton-in-Marsh, England, native scored the game-winning goal in Friday’s 1-0 upset over No. 5 Drury and then responded with RU’s first goal in the Hawks’ 2-1 win at Missouri S&T to close out the week. He led the team with seven shots and five shots on goals last week.

Magee is the GLVC leader in points (32) and co-leader in goals (12) and game-winning goals (5). He also ranks second in the conference in assists (8).

This is the second weekly award of Magee’s career as he was honored by the conference on Oct. 3, 2011.  His accolade also makes him the third Rockhurst player to be recognized this season as Nick McDonald and Ryan Bass were named GLVC Player of the Week on Sept. 17 and Oct. 15, respectively.

The Hawks (13-2-2 overall) are in first place in the GLVC with an 11-2-1 league record.
