University of Missouri-St. Louis sophomore forward Liz Drennan has been named the final Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for the 2012 season, it was announced Monday by the league office. Drennan earned the first weekly award of her career and is the first Triton soccer player this season to be honored as GLVC Player of the Week. She is also the first UMSL player to be honored since Kaylee Neutzling on Sept. 20, 2010, and the fourth Triton player recognized in program history. Sierra Ellis and Rachel Lee earned back-to-back honors on Sept. 25 and Oct. 2, 2006.

Drennan scored both goals in UMSL’s 2-1 overtime victory over Maryville last Wednesday in the season finale, including the game-winner just 38 seconds into the extra period. She took three shots in the contest, with all three landing on goal.

The Tritons ended their season at 4-11-2 overall, including 4-10-1 in the GLVC.
