Lewis University sophomore forward Jess Reinhart was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for contests played Nov. 5-11, it was announced by the league on Monday.
Reinhart posted impressive numbers on the week, averaging 22 points, 12 rebounds, and one assist per game. She shot 14-for-30 (.467) from the field and went 16-for-18 (.889) from the free throw line. The Normal, Ill., native also collected two assists between the two wins.
Reinhart started the week recording her first double-double on the season with 19 points and 16 rebounds, 11 of which were on the defensive end in 33 minutes versus Saginaw Valley State. Against Northwood, she led Lewis’ post players scoring 18 of her 25 points in the first half, while adding eight rebounds and two assists. Her first-half effort was just two points shy of her previous single-game high.
The honor is Reinhart’s first of her career and she is the first Flyer to be recognized with a GLVC weekly award since Jenny Turpel earned Player of the Week honors on Feb. 8, 2010.
