Wisconsin-Parkside senior guard Jenna Endisch has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for contests played Dec. 17-20, it was announced by the league on Thursday.
Endisch helped lead the Rangers to a split week against ranked opponents posting a win over No. 6 Washburn and a loss to No. 15 Grand Canyon at the South Point Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas, Nev. She posted notable numbers on the week, averaging 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in 34.0 minutes of court time.
In the 68-54 loss to Grand Canyon, Endisch put up a game-high 25 points in 8-of-17 (47.1%) shooting and 6-of-14 (42.9%) from beyond the arc. She topped off the outing by adding four rebounds, two assists, and one steal to her totals.
Endisch returned Wednesday for a face-off with Washburn where she continued her impressive shooting with 16 points, of which 13 were scored in the second half, while adding a perfect 2-of-2 performance from the free-throw line. She also gathered three rebounds and snatched two steals to hand the Lady Blues their second straight one-possession loss, 50-47.
The Muskego, Wis., native is averaging 14.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in seven contests.
The honor is Endisch’s first of her career, since Britany Beyer won the award on Feb. 20, 2012.
The Rangers (5-2) will close out the year at home on Sunday, Dec. 30 with a non-conference meeting against Indiana University Northwest.
