INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Kaitlin Colosimo (Orland Park, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

  

Colosimo was 4-0 last week in helping the Cougars post a 9-1 record at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla. The sophomore pitcher finished the trip with a 1.11 earned run average.

 

She opened the week with a complete-game, 7-3 win over Ferris State. She struck out seven and allowed three runs in the victory.

 

In the Cougars’ 3-1 win over Georgian Court on Mar. 8, Colosimo went the distance and allowed just five hits and struck out five to register the decision.

 

She picked up a win in relief against Saint Rose by tossing 4.1 innings and allowing just three hits. Colosimo completed the week with a three-hit shutout over Dowling. She struck out 11 in the 4-0 win.

 

For the week, she struck out 26 in 25.1 innings pitched and walked just two.

 

The eighth-ranked Cougars (16-3) will return to action at Kentucky Wesleyan on Mar. 14.

 

Other top performances in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Claire Horstman, Lewis’ Courtney Lyons, Missouri-Rolla’s Jen O’Hara, Northern Kentucky’s Amanda Smith and Saint Joseph’s Sara Somogyi.
