Quincy junior guard Lucy Cramsey has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for contests played Jan. 10-12, it was announced by the league on Monday.
 
For the week, Cramsey posted back-to-back double-doubles in the Hawks two league wins at Pepsi Arena.   On Thursday, Cramsey registered 21 points and 10 rebounds in a 65-58 win over Kentucky Wesleyan.  She shot 60 percent (9-of-15) from the field and 50 percent (3-of-6) from beyond the arc en route to her third double-double of the season.   
 
Cramsey returned Saturday for a showdown with then-unbeaten Southern Indiana where she registered her fourth double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.  The Hawks erased an eight-point first-half deficit and eventually held off the Screaming Eagles in a 65-62 victory.  Cramsey topped off her outing by adding one assist, one steal, and one block in 37 minutes of action, and shot 57.1 percent from the stripe.
 
The Liberty, Ill., native is averaging leads the Hawks in scoring (12.7), rebounding (9.2), and steals (1.6, and is shooting 54.2 percent from the field, and 44.4 percent from downtown.  She also ranks second in the league with 110 rebounds corralled.
 
The honor is Cramsey’s first of her career, and the first for Quincy since Ali Schwagmeyer won the award on Feb. 6, 2012.
 
The Hawks (6-6, 4-0 GLVC) will put their five-game winning streak on the road when they visit Missouri S&T on Thursday, Jan. 17 in a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
