INDIANAPOLIS – University of Southern Indiana junior Erika Wilson and Lewis University sophomore Kayla King were picked Wednesday as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively.
This past weekend, Wilson recorded the top 3,000-meter time in the conference this year at the Gladstein Invitational, breaking the tape in 10:06.76.
The Pekin, Ind., native earns the first weekly honor of his career and is the first Screaming Eagle to win the award since Mary Ballinger garnered Track Athlete of the Week accolades on Feb. 17, 2010.
