INDIANAPOLIS – University of Southern Indiana senior Michael Jordan and Missouri S&T freshman Michael Grinde have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the league on Wednesday.  Jordan was voted by the league coaches as the Track Athlete of the Week, while Grinde was tabbed as the Field Athlete of the Week.

Grinde won the pole vault competition at the 2013 Snowbird Invitational last week with a personal best and NCAA provisional mark of 4.71 meters, which is currently tops among GLVC vaulters.

The Monroe City, Mo., native garners the first weekly award of his career and is the first Miner to be recognized by the conference since Bryan Kluge, Brendan Smith and Dan Hellwig earned an S&T trifecta on Feb. 17, 2010.
