Lewis University senior Kamille Ferguson and McKendree University senior Kristin Wykoff were picked Wednesday as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively.
Ferguson ran an NCAA Provisional time in the 200 meters at the Chicagoland Championships over the weekend with a flat-track time of 24.90. Her effort converts to a 24.52 on the national list, which is currently 16th-best in the country and tops among all GLVC competitors.
A native of Chicago, Ill., Ferguson earns the second weekly honor of her career and the season as she was recognized by the conference with the first Track Athlete of the Week award of 2013 back on Jan. 16. Her honor also keeps the Flyers’ streak alive of having at least one track or field athlete honored each week during the indoor season.
