A pair of Missouri S&T standouts has swept the final Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors of the 2013 season, it was announced by the league on Wednesday.  Junior Adriel Hawkins has been named the GLVC Track Athlete of the Week, while sophomore Ryan McGuire earns Field Athlete of the Week accolades.

Hawkins won the 200-meter event at the 2013 Missouri Challenge with a career-best and NCAA provisional mark of 22.01, which converted to 21.64.  The mark ranks him first in the GLVC and 16th in the national rankings. 

A native of Jefferson City, Mo., Hawkins earns the first weekly award of his indoor career and is the first Miner trackster since Bryan Kluge and Brendan Smith shared Track Athlete of the Week accolades on Feb. 17, 2010.
