INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Drury University’s Joe Rohlfing (Lee’s Summit, Mo.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
Rohlfing, a freshman shortstop for the Panthers, helped Drury register a 4-1 record against conference foes Rockhurst and Quincy last week.
In Drury’s sweep of Rockhurst on Mar. 20, Rohlfing went 5-for-9 at the plate with three runs and three RBIs. He was 5-for-6 in the Panthers’ 15-7 win in the day’s opener.
Rohlfing was 4-for-11 in the Panthers’ three-game series at Quincy over the weekend. In the doubleheader on Mar. 24, he was 4-for-7 with two runs and two RBIs.
For the week, Rohlfing was 9-for-16 (.450) with five runs and five RBIs. He is hitting a team-best .370 on the season with 18 runs and 11 RBIs.
Drury (14-10, 9-3 GLVC) is alone atop the GLVC standings and will return to the diamond at home against Missouri-St. Louis on Mar. 28.
Other top performances in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Jeff Dillman, Quincy’s Chris Scoggins, SIU Edwardsville’s Ryan Czyz and UIndy’s Chase Wilson.
