Lewis University sophomore Zsofia Lanstiak has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced by the league on Tuesday.
Lanstiak posted a pair of victories in the Flyers’ 6-3 setback at No. 38 Grand Valley State last week.
Paired with junior Zsofia Kranczicki , the duo registered Lewis’ lone doubles victory, an 8-2 decision, at the No. 1 position. In singles, the 27th-ranked Eger, Hungary native bested regional-rank No. 11 Niki Shipman at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
On the season, Lanstiak owns a 25-3 combined singles/doubles ledger, including 13-1 in singles. She has won her last seven decisions in singles on the season. During the dual campaign she sports a 12-2 record.
The honor is Lanstiak’s sixth of her career and third on the season, as she also won the award on March 12, 2013.
Lewis, ranked third in the region, is 3-3 on the year and will return to action Tuesday, March 26 as they head to Bourbonnais, Ill., to meet Olivet Nazarene for a 3:30 p.m. first serve.
