INDIANAPOLIS – Bellarmine University sophomore outfielder Austin Crutcher and University of Missouri-St. Louis junior pitcher Zach Standefer have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office on Monday.
On the mound, Standefer pitched a complete game, three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in a 7-0 win over Saint Joseph’s on Saturday. The Bethalto, Ill., native went the full seven innings and issued only one walk against the Pumas.
This is the first weekly honor for Standefer and the first for an UMSL pitcher since teammate Kyle Renaud was named GLVC Pitcher of the Week two weeks ago on March 11.
