INDIANAPOLIS – Lewis University sophomore shortstop Mike Barajas and University of Missouri-St. Louis senior pitcher Kyle Renaud have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the league office on Monday.

In the Flyers’ four-game sweep over McKendree last weekend, Barajas went 6-for-13 on .462 hitting at the plate, while driving in six runs and scoring once.  He paced the Flyers with six RBI, 10 total bases, and a .769 slugging percentage.  He was also one of just two Lewis players to record six hits on the weekend, registering both a double and a home run, while staying perfect in the field at shortstop.

The Chicago, Ill., native, who is hitting .370 and slugging .568 on the year, earns his first career weekly accolade and is the first Flyer to be honored by the conference since Michael Schroeder was named Player of the Week on March 11, 2013.
