The Great Lakes Valley Conference has named University of Indianapolis senior men’s golfer Tobin Dunigan as the GLVC Player of the Month for March, it was announced Monday following a vote from the league’s men’s golf coaches.

Dunigan competed in four events last month and averaged 75.1 over six rounds.

The Jackson, Mich., native opened March with medalist honors at the Las Vegas Desert Classic, March 3-4, following a pair of 75s in windy conditions.  The Greyhound senior paced a field of 96 competitors, while UIndy recorded a fourth-place finish at 314.

Two weeks later, Dunigan finished 20th out of 73 golfers with an 18-hole score of 80 at the University of Illinois Springfield Spring Invitational that was anything but spring-like.  The event was played in wintry conditions and shortened to 18 holes, leaving the Greyhounds tied for third at 314.

Dunigan then fired a 3-over-par 75 in a dual match with Ferris State on March 29, prior to finishing fourth overall in a field of 90 golfers at the UW-Parkside Spring Invitational at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind.  He notched his second top-five finish of the spring with a 2-over 146 following rounds of 74 and 72.  His efforts helped UIndy to a third-place result overall at 600 (298-302).

This is Dunigan’s first monthly honor of his career.
