Bellarmine University junior distance specialist Robert Sandlin and University of Indianapolis junior thrower T.J. Lovejoy have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the league on Wednesday.

Despite less than ideal throwing conditions, Lovejoy won the hammer at the historic Indiana Little State Championships over the weekend.  His mark of 60.10 meters is currently tops among GLVC throwers and ranks among the top six nationally on the NCAA qualifying list.

The Indianapolis, Ind., native earns the first weekly award of his career and is the first Greyhound field athlete to be recognized by the conference in the outdoor season since Ryan Smith and Matt Royer earned the first two awards of the 2012 season on April 10 and April 17, respectively.
